Meet Phoebe, my first pet insect and quite honestly, a very important part of my life. 

This beautiful Ghost Mantis is originally from Madagascar, but my friend found someone breeding them nearby for us to purchase.  

I had the privilege of taking care of her for 8 months; I would feed her, let her explore while I was editing, watched her molt into her full adult stage and even saw her lay multiple infertile ootheca's (the egg case of a mantis).

From what I have learned, This meant she lived a happy and full life.

 

Her presence, short as it was, will always be missed.
